Aging 100 and HFC Team up to recognize National Family Caregivers Month and National Alzheimer’s Disease Month by awarding a caregiver a free in-home respite care grant

Aging 100 is partnering with HFC (formerly Hilarity For Charity) to provide an in-home respite care grant for a family caregiver of a person living with memory loss, cognitive issues, and/or a diagnosis of dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease. The in-home care grant program relieves caregivers, giving them time to rest, recharge and focus on their personal and professional life.

Delivered through, Home Instead, the world's leading provider of personalized in-home care services, the Recharge Relief Grant provides 3-6 months of free, professional, in-home care. Alzheimer’s care services funded through the grant program, will be delivered by a highly skilled and trained Home Instead CAREGiver.

This respite care grant is funded by the generous donation of the founder of Aging 100, who understands firsthand the struggles of being a family caregiver. She wants this donation to be special and intended for a deserving caregiver.

Guidelines & Eligibility

Recharge Respite Grant

The Recharge Respite Grant is designed to provide respite to family caregivers that need to take time to personally recharge and focus on themselves. It is a one-time grant of 50 hours of respite care to be used within three (3) months of being awarded. If awarded a Recharge Respite Grant, upon completion of this grant, applicants are able to reapply for another grant if needed. The founder of Aging 100 will only sponsor the first grant.

The Recharge Respite grant does not require a formal diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s, however, applicants must identify specific issues related to memory loss, trouble thinking, or other dementia-like symptoms for the person living with these issues. Applicants must fall within the following criteria.

  • Currently living at home with person living with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.

  • Caregiver(s) is facing financial and emotional hardships due to the unique challenges of Alzheimer’s or related Dementia.

  • Resides in the United States or Canada. Grant program not available in Puerto Rico or other US territories.

The respite care hours will be provided by Home Instead and there is no cash value. Only one application per person/household will be accepted. To see if there is a Home Instead in your area, please visit Home Instead.
